Helen Richardson Greenlea
Chief Marketing & Operations Officer
Helen has been riding since she was two years old — horses are her oldest language. But she came to Hands for Healing Equine through her son, whose work with equines has been quietly transformative in his experience of PTSD, anxiety, and ADHD: a steadying, sensory, wordless kind of healing she had never encountered in any clinical setting. When Suzanne MacPhail crossed her path, Helen recognized the same medicine her son had found — and knew she wanted to help more people find it, too.
As Chief Marketing Officer, Helen leads both how the organization shows up in the world and how it runs inside. She built the brand identity, digital ecosystem, fundraising operations, and go-to-market direction from the ground up — and partners with the Executive Director and Board to design the operational systems, financial stewardship, and governance scaffolding that let the mission scale. She executed the nonprofit's first community events and launched a multi-channel awareness campaign that exceeded engagement benchmarks across every platform within weeks of launch.
Her professional chapter spans 25+ years in enterprise and higher education SaaS, where she earned national recognition as a product evangelist and market-maker across $100M+ portfolios, with work featured in Forbes, University Business, and The Chronicle of Higher Education. Same skills. Different mission. Entirely worth it.
Helen lives in Ipswich with her family. She holds a soft spot for Sophie — the Argentine thoroughbred whose homeland Helen once studied in — and dreams of one day rescuing draft horses from kill pens.
